L&P Media to Redesign The New York State Tourism Web Site Applications - WWW.ILOVENY.COM

Troy, NY (May 28, 2006) . . . L&P Media, a new media, advertising, marketing and communications solutions company located in Troy, NY is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the New York State Department of Economic Development to redesign the official New York State Tourism Website application – http://www.iloveny.com.

A division of Light & Power Communications, L&P Media, has already begun work on the project and is very excited about the opportunity. “We are very honored to be selected by the NYS Department of Economic Development through a competetive bid process to provide a very attractive, functional web site that promotes New York State tourism. The new web application will be a vibrant representation of New York State travel destinations that increases communication to potential visitors and residents via a customized customer relationship management system and features the InteliAdmin™ Content Management system. Furthermore the web applicaiotn shall leverage a MapInfo GIS system, Google enterprise search capabilities and other interactive and media rich technologies. The web site will also aid to enhance economic development throughout the state. It will leverage technology to assist in presentation, minimize the need for employee intervention and maintenance time and anchor the long term growth efforts for New York State tourism,” stated John Daniels, President of L&P Media.

The newly designed web site will contain many microsites. Microsites are mini-web sites which contain information specific to a theme, marketing program, event, location, etc. They provide a “landing site” for inquiries generated by the Department’s seasonal and other niche-marketing efforts, and enable enhanced tracking of the effectiveness of such efforts.

Furthermore, to insure that the content of the site and its affiliated microsites are accessible to the disabled, this project will include the development of text-alternative versions of each.

The web site provides potential travelers with trip, accommodation, attraction and other essential information. The I Love New York® web site is charged with providing usable, readily accessible and in-depth information for destinations, attractions, activities, accommodations events and other tourism facilities and services that combine to make New York State “The destination of choice for travelers”. The web site also assists and complements the work of the various Tourism Promotion Agencies located throughout New York State.

 Additionally, L&P Media will provide marketing research efforts and Search Engine Optimization in concert with other program efforts, to insure the appropriate information is being captured and offered on the web site for its constituents.
